Yes, I think you’re making a big deal out of nothing. He may never go on it and he didn’t think it was important. Unless you have evidence that something more was going on, forgive him.

MySpace isn’t a dating site or anything like that. Think of it as an old Facebook. Just another way of finding old friends from school or wherever. And the fact that it is set to private is even better because that means he’s not having it open for anyone to see so he wouldn’t be becoming friends with random people.
