I just downloaded the Raptr installer, and when I ran it, it said Download Failed: Downloading timed out. How do I fix this and get Raptr installed?
This error is almost always caused by an antivirus program blocking the Raptr client from downloading the necessary files to update itself. Understandably, it is a suspicious behavior, and one that viruses (worms mostly) will also duplicate. To resolve this, you will need to access your security software, and either set an exception for raptr.exe and raptrstub.exe, or find a ‘blocked applications’ list and remove those files from the list. In very rare cases, you may need to make an exception in your firewall as well. In rare cases, Internet Explorer’s proxy settings can cause this problem, even if you’re not using IE.
