I just created a new channel but every time I exit TeamSpeak or leave the channel it disappears and I have to recreate it. Is there some way to make the channel persistent?

Certainly. Simply create the channel and make sure the “REGISTERED” checkbox next to the FLAGS section is checked. This will ensure that the channel remains persistent.
