This is a very unusual problem in relation to wallrock but very common with traditional wallpapers in areas that experience high humidity and/or extreme temperature variations such as kitchens and bathrooms. The problem is caused by weak bond strength between the wallrock and the wall or ceiling. In such applications as this it is especially important that walls and ceilings are prepared in compliance with the instructions especially in respect of ‘sizing’ and ensuring a good quality ready mixed adhesive (one that contain PVA) is used such as ‘wallrock Power Adhesive’, Solvite ‘red top’ or Brewers ‘red top’ for example. If you already have this problem it can be necessary to strip off the wallrock and start again, (as would always be necessary with a traditional wallpaper), but try carefully peeling off the wallrock in the affected areas and reapplying with a stronger adhesive and filling any remaining gaps – wallrock can be lightly sanded after painting if necessary before a second pa
