After the midterm exam the Manpower allocation task committee (MATC) will come to trivandrum n tell u about the available vacancies at different places. you will only be told the place and number of vacancies. the number of vacancies is always same as the number of students in your batch(batch means the batches of 30-40 in which your classes are held). Seats are allotted batch wise. Suppose 8 batches join in the same semester. Then they will have midterm at same time and MATC at same time. So the total seats will be almost equally divided into all the batches. You then have to give 3 choices from the available options. Based on your midterm ranks your allocation will be made. No preference will be given for your home or other things. The only exception is the case is when u r married (irrespective of u r boy or girl) and you perform at least OK in midterms. Then you might be given preference of choice irrespective of rank. but if ur performance is poor then no preference will be g
