I heard there will be some page compression functionality available to reduce network bandwith. Where and when can I get this?
To improve transmission speed, it makes sense to compress the data sent by the SAP GUI for HTML server. This is easy to achieve since the latest versions of typical Web browsers (such as MS IE 4.0 or higher, and Netscape Communicator 6.2) support decompression and display of compressed text/html transmission. Since the ITS (AGate) uses gzip compression, it examines HTTP request headers for the “accepts-encoding” field to verify that the Web browser supports gzip. This HTTP compression feature is available with ITS 4.6D. With ITS 4.6D C4 and 6.10 it has been optimized and improved tremendously.
