I heard the Network Connectivity Program only includes installing one network faceplate per room. Is that true?
No. The project’s intent is to upgrade the services that are currently in use. One significant difference from EzraNet (the previous network upgrade project) is that the scope of the Network Connectivity Program does not include installing faceplates for speculative or future use. Also, during the schematic design phase, stakeholders will be asked to assess whether all of the services that are currently in use actually need to be upgraded. In some cases, wireless network services will suffice. If my department determines that there is a need for faceplates beyond what the Network Connectivity Program can provide, can this be included in the scope? Will the department need to contribute additional funding? If it is determined that additional faceplates need to be installed, beyond the project scope, they will be included in the scope of work. If the cost exceeds the project budget for the building, departments may be asked to provide supplemental funds.
