I heard the controls suck from IGN, and they don use the IR pointing control like FPS games. Do the controls suck?
+ Well, it is true that the game does not use IR pointing (infared). This means that you do not actively control the camera or flashlight like you control, say, Samus’s gun in Metroid Prime 3. For the most part, you control the camera as if it was one of the previous PS2 games, however it implements a lock-on like Metroid Prime, so you can sort of move while locked on. Many complain that it should have FPS controls, simply because it looks like an FPS in Finder Mode and the 3rd person perspective is similar to Resident Evil 4. While you can argue that it seems like a waste to make it for Wii and not take advantage of the controls, I’ve heard many accounts of people who actually prefer, or at the very least, enjoy, this new control set-up. It’s awkward if you go in expecting it to play like an FPS, but since it really isn’t, if you go in without that mindset, it should just feel like an enhanced version of the PS2 controls.
