You probably heard of the Virgin Valley opal mines approximately 15-20 miles west of Denio on Rt. 140. These mines are well signed so you won`t miss them. Open to the public on a “pay to dig” basis, not sure of the fee but it is somewhere around $60/day. Good luck.
