NO. Contrary to popular belief, MSG School is not a “P.T. Academy.” MSG school consists of both mental and physical challenges. That being said, very few Marines who come to MSG school in good shape are dropped strictly due to physical fitness. Marines thinking about MSG duty should do their best to keep themselves in good physical condition. We can’t all run a 300 PFT, but we can all do our best to stay in shape. Marines who fail the initial PFT at MSG School will be dropped. Ha. Ha ha. Ha ha ha… Try coming to school with a 2nd or 3rd class PFT and see the torture you will endure. I had a high 1st class and still couldn’t keep up on all the class runs. And that part doesn’t even bother me, it was the constant, “You weren’t trying. You have to have heart! It was a slow run! You’re making everyone else wait for you!” nonsense that people like to dish out to whoever falls behind. If I remember correctly, they would keep track of who fell out of class runs, regardless of your PFT score,
