It is true! Most are 20+ years old, and sell for $1000-$1500 USD. For those of us who have ridden in these gems they are anything but luxurious! You have to realize that a Mercedes in Europe is not a status symbol like it is in the US. A Mercedes is like a Chevrolet. I can’t imagine someone saying, “hey look at that guy, he is driving a Lumina!”. The Bosnia and Hercegovina government also waved all import taxes on a car for men who served in the army during the war. This makes the cost of a car, including a new Mercedes, less than half what it is in the US. All I have to do is figure out how to get one home. Just kidding!
