With subsequent sessions the bruising becomes less and less as your body gets used to the therapy. Most patients have 2 to 4 small bruises after each session. I always advise patients to apply Arnica or Vitamin K gel several times a day before and after the mesotherapy. This not only reduces the amount of bruising that occurs in the first place, it also makes bruises resolve twice as fast. Fortunately, bruising is not a big concern for most patients because pants or shorts can conceal the most popular treatment areas easily. The worst bruising I have ever seen occurs in patients who take daily doses of aspirin, ibuprofen, high dose vitamin E or garlic supplements or patients who have bruised easily all their lives.
