You are correct. In the regions served by area codes 519 and 613 in Ontario and 450, 514 and 819 in Québec, 10-digit dialing was adopted for all local calls on June 17, 2006. Furthermore, this new dialing mode will also apply to local calls originating from area code 418 and terminating in the 819 area, and to local calls originating from area code 705 and terminating in the 519, 613 and 819 areas. The awareness period will begin June 17th 2006 and the mandatory start date, depending on where you live, will begin in October 2006.
