I hear lots of talk about float and cycle applications. What is the difference?
A float application requires the battery to be on constant charge with an occasional discharge. Cycle applications charge and discharge the battery on a regular basis. A gel cell or gelled electrolyte is a sealed battery containing semi-solid electrolyte and may also be identified as a sealed lead acid, AGM(absorbed glass mat) or VRLA type battery.
