There is indeed a problem with trying to install the Display Driver Update (DDU) on anything above, it seems, Windows XP – it’s normally just because the installer is 16-bit and Windows Vista and 7 don’t support those anymore. If all you want to do is to be able to switch the game to 3DFX mode, you don’t actually need the DDU at all. Simply change the following lines in your CA.INI file in your LB2 install folder… [Init] … Version=2.09 (you should see this if the game is patched correctly) D3D=0 (change numerical value to 0, this disables D3D mode) 3DFX=1 (change numerical value to 1, this enables 3DFX mode) … By doing this you are enabling 3DFX mode. Note that by placing a 0 next to both the D3D and 3DFX lines you are effectively disabling both modes and therefore enable Software mode.
