A. Of course I have ideas. (And some of them may even work.) Bury the container in the soil. The fig will get adequate moisture from the soil in humid climates, but hand watering or a drip line may be desirable in dry climates. In the fall before you get hard freezes below 25ΓΈ dig up the container, shovel pruning any protruding roots. This will help control the size of the plant. A 5 or 10-gallon container will be large enough for the life of the plant.
