Wait 100 years and if it still survives at least it is an antique–I, too, broke down, and in my case bought a Charles and Diana tea caddy, while trying to spend my last bit of change before leaving Gatwick in July 1981. [I left the UK exactly a week before the “wedding of the century”.] I’m cheered by the fact that growing up I remember a Queen Victoria Jubilee pin tray that took pride of place on my grandmother’s dressing table. I never asked, but always supposed it was a family heirloom.
