I have seen other companies selling fingerprint type jewellery who take impressions into clay rather than putty. What is the best way?
We have invested a lot of time and effort into sourcing the best and safest material to take a fingerprint impression, and have tried every way possible, including using clay. Clay is very firm compared to the impression putty and it can bruise the fingers of younger babies, and it doesn’t pick up all the fine details that our extra-soft specialist impression putty will. The end results are clearer, even on the youngest wriggling babies! There are other advantages too – it’s simple and effective everytime, you don’t need anyone to take the impression for you, you can order more than one item without having to retake the imprint for each one, it only takes a few seconds unlike the clay which can be messy as it has to be rolled out and shaped everytime you take a print. Using impression putty also has the added benefit to us that we can remake any item at anytime during the process, which enables us to keep the quality high.
