I have seen many people recommended on travel forums who seem to be freelance travel agents. Why should I work with a registered travel company instead?
In Argentina freelance travel agents are forbidden by law. Only properly registered travel companies are allowed to provide travel services. Please beware of the difference between a tour guide and a travel agent. A tour guide can only do tours, but he/she is not authorized to make any type of travel arrangements unless he/she works for a travel company. Using a freelance agent, a tour guide or a non licensed company puts you at a serious risk as you are simply working with a non existing business which gives you no legal protection whatsoever.
