I have Red Hat 7, and Im running KDE. The magnifier keeps going blank after a few seconds, whats going on?

The problem was in KDE. If the user has decided to hide the panel taskbar and sets a delay time for when it appears if the mouse is moved to the panel location, then it appears that KDE creates mouse events that fool DS9 into thinking the mouse is outside and it blanks the magnifier. By turning off the hide panel, the effect goes away.
