I have read the contract and wanted to find out if my vet breeds my mare and finds that the semen post thaw is less then 30% motility, will you replace the dose if mare does not conceive?
Your Vet will not find that the post thaw is less than 30 %. None of the semen I sell is less than 40% PPM. I have morphology reports on all collections that I receive, so I know exactly what a certain date’s semen will thaw at. If he finds less than 30%, then something has gone wrong in the thaw process or your Vet is looking at the semen under adverse circumstances; i.e.: too cold, too hot, too long thawed, too soon after thaw, etc. There are many variables to calling the post thaw motility of thawed frozen semen. I do not guarantee pregnancies, only the quality of the semen. I would not bring semen out of Germany that is less than 30% – has never happened. It is just “industry standard” that 30% is the margin. If your Vet follows the thawing protocol that I send with the shipment, then the semen is fine, and you don’t need to freak out. A accurate post thaw motility can only be ascertained under the correct conditions and equipment. A cursory look at the semen in the field cannot be
