I have PCOS and Im 5 weeks pregnant. Im scared of a miscarriage?
The problem with PCOS is that you have a higher than normal testosterone level and sometimes it is hard for progesterone to over power the testosterone and you will miscarry. It does not happen in EVERY woman with PCOS, but it is an issue. If you have had previous miscarriages it would definitely be something to look into. Since you do have PCOS and are concerned about miscarriage, I would ask the doctor to check your level of progesterone. Progesterone is the hormone that basically makes your uterus hold on to whatever is in it. A doctor that is playing it as safe as possible would check progesterone levels several different times through out the first trimester with a woman with PCOS. Another thing they could look for with you having PCOS is the corpus luteum on your ovaries (via ultrasound.) This is where the egg released from your ovary, there should be a cyst there called the corpus luteum that produces progesterone. If you have a decent sized corpus luteum then you are probably o
