I have others appointed as Research Associates, Adjunct Professors and Clinical faculty in my Department who are scheduled to retire in 2007. Can I re-appoint these individuals?
Yes. The moratorium on mandatory retirement will apply to all faculty ranks, including Research Associates, Adjunct Professors and Clinical faculty. Those individuals can continue to work on either a full-time or part-time basis or they may choose to retire at any time with advance notice. This means that they can be reappointed to meet the needs of the Department.
