As an unregistered customer the maximum you can pay to a restricted BPAY Biller is determined by your Daily Limit. You can apply by Pin Mailer for your Daily Limit to be increased up to $1,500. Alternatively, to remove these restricted BPAY Billers from your Daily Limit you can register for Westpac Protect SMS Code. Why does Westpac Protect SMS Code apply to only some BPAY payments Some BPAY payments allow funds to be withdrawn or forwarded almost immediately after they are made. This type of transaction is a common target for fraudulent activity due to the fast access to funds and hence given additional security protection. Westpac refers to these BPAY Billers as restricted BPAY Billers, therefore any new payment to a restricted Biller will require a SMS Code.
