I have not completed a UK Foundation Programme. How can I demonstrate I have acquired the Foundation core competencies?
If you have not undertaken a UK Foundation Programme within the last three years (since 1 August 2007), you need to provide evidence you have achieved equivalent to the Foundation competences. You can do this by submitting Certificate A or Certificate B which can be downloaded from this website. To decide which certificate is appropriate for you please check Appendix 1 listing specialties with acute medical responsibility (Certificate A) and those without (Certificate B). Your certificate must be signed by the consultant who supervised you for at least three months in the last three years (since 1 August 2007). If you cannot demonstrate that you have achieved all your competences in one post, please submit additional certificates to demonstrate the full set of required competences. If you hold refugee status and you are unable to provide standardised evidence of having achieved equivalent to the foundation competencies, you should contact your first preference deanery for advice before
