I have new Taylor Made LT-2 heads that I want to e, xtend to a length of +1.5″. Can this length be built using the 750 shaft and still maintain a swingweight of D-2 to D-3?
ANSWER- Golfer, There are several assumptions to be made in your question before answering your question. If we assume a typical head weight of most Taylor Made heads, (not every model will weight the same), and a typical hosel bore depth dimension to the groundline, (not every model has a uniform bore dimension), and that you are not concerned about how the shaft will perform at that particular length and weight, then we can answer your question. For example, a typical Taylor Made 2007 raw head weight of 261 grams for a #6 iron, with a typical bore dimension, and a length of +1.5″ longer than a typical length of 37.25″, or a 38.75″ finished length, with a traditional 50 gram grip- your club will have a heavier swingweight than your target of D-2 to D-3. With the above assumptions, it will be approximately D-6. You didn’t mention your flex requirements, which is a huge issue on overlength clubs. This becomes extremely important, especially with our 750 model as it is only manufactured
