When you open SQ Remote it will search for the MiOS systems it knows, as well as for any new ones on your current Network. During this time the activity indicator (the spinning little image) will show you that it is searching. When it has finished searching the connection state will be shown underneath the Square Connect logo at the bottom left corner of the screen when the carousel is being shown: If all devices are connected it will show: But if one or more are not connected it will show a slightly different message: The numbers in the square brackets indicate the connection status: [x/y] which implies that you are connected to x systems out of a possible total of y known systems. Within a control pad, the connection status is shown by a small icon next to the Edit button.
