I have mapped network drives to access the CFS Z: or X: drives, how will I be affected?
Note: If you use mapped drives you’ll know, or someone else would have set them up for you, so you should check with them. If you have mapped a network drive from a Windows PC, once you change your CFS password: – At logon a message will display advising that one or more network drives could not be reconnected – When you open My Computer and try to browse to the network drive you will be prompted to re-enter your password – If you have created a desktop shortcut to the network drive it will not prompt you to re-enter your password but will not work until you do If you have mapped a network drive from a non-Windows PC, once you change your CFS password: – You will still be required to change your CFS password when it expires in order to continue accessing mapped network drives – You may find your shortcuts disappear from your desktop when you change your CFS password and if so you will need to re-map the network drives If you are a MacOS user and you have a mapped network drive icon on
