I have just a inspiron 530s. can i put a nvidia geforce 8600 video card in, and also where is the card slot?
The Dell Inspiron 530s should support a Geforce 8600 card as long as it provides enough power. I would recommend upgrading your power supply to at least 400 watts first though. Most computers come with power supplies that barely meet the requirements for the parts already installed. Performance video cards like the 8000 series require more watts that the typical computer comes with in order to run properly. The card slot is the PCI Express slot. It’s location differs on different motherboards but generally, it is located along the back edge of the motherboard (back where the power supply and most of the ports are). It is usually marked in white on the motherboard itself. You’ll see two or four long, narrow, white slots back there. Then you’ll also see one or maybe two longer, different colored narrow slots too.
