MSU simplified the tier choices which allowed for price comparisons with other insurance plans. The four tier structure is standard across the insurance industry for fully insured plans. However, as a result of the Universitys decision to withdraw membership from MSU, our plan could return to those tiers. If we were a self-insured plan, such a change could decrease the child only rate but increase the children rate.
