I have heard that the Altoona-Johnstown Diocese is no longer administering Bishop Carroll, Bishop Guilfoyle and Bishop McCort. Where is my pledge really going and who will run Saint Josephs Catholic Academy?

A. Saint Joseph’s Catholic Academy will follow the model of our sister Catholic high schools in our Diocese which are now administered by non-profit charitable organizations per section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code and governed by a Board of Trustees. Saint Josephs Catholic Academy is registered with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. All pledges to the charitable organization will be separately identified and insured and would be returned to the donor in the event that the school is not established. Although the Diocese will not directly administer Saint Joseph’s Catholic Academy, the Bishop will have a permanent seat on the Board of Trustees.
