I have heard that ginkgo biloba helps to reduce pain in the legs by enhancing blood circulation to the legs. Is that true?
A German research study showed that Ginkgo biloba was significantly superior to placebo in improving symptoms of intermittent claudication, a type of peripheral arterial disease which causes pain in the legs due to obstructed blood circulation [Peters, 1998], because ginkgo seems to make blood less likely to clot. However, it increases the risk of bleeding if you are using aspirin, blood thinners or clot-busting medications 3.
