I have heard rumors that the BABOO has had somehat of a sordid past within the monster truck circuit. Whats the story?
Monster trucks indeed. I had hoped to address this in a later “BABOO: Fact versus Fiction” link; I hope that such a link will one day serve to dispell the rantings of these yahoo BABOO Fan Club apotheists (the club now keeps a much lower profile following the BABOO’s relocation in Oregon). Back to your question: While of course the BABOO is at a great disadvantage with her stock Michelin P225/65 SR15 racing slicks, it is true that she has done her fair share of car-crushing and truck-crusheeing. Perhaps the most notable example of the latter was an episode in a dark one-way alley in Boulder, CO in August 1993. For no apparent reason (read: testosterone), the BABOO was nose-to-nose with a brand new Toyota 4×4 pick-up in a torque-testing push-of-war. Owing to a difference in bumper height between the two vehicles, it was a matter of time before the coefficient of static friction gave way to a BABOO drive-over by the lift-equipped 4×4.
