Include copies of all income statements (W-2, 1099, etc.) indicating Georgia income tax withheld. You are not required to submit 1099 forms with your Georgia return unless Georgia income tax was withheld. Look at the Form 1099-INT. There are several boxes which list tax withholding for federal, state and local. If there is state tax withheld for Georgia, you will want to include in on the return in the tax withheld box and then attach the form to prove the withholding. BUT….. In most cases, state tax is not withheld on Forms 1099-INT, in which case you do not need to attach it, only your W-2. Happy (?!) tax filing!!……. Sources: Professional experience…..
