I have extremely bad credit but need finance – what are my chances?

Hi Jamie, if you know your credit is extremely bad then the best option would be to apply with a joint hirer if that is possible. We do have a wide range of lenders on our panel however – and we find that a lot of people who think their credit is really bad are accepted for car finance. Regards, Edwin • Last year I declared bankruptcy but was discharged early as the debts ‘were out of my control’ (joint with my ex-wife), now some 6 months on I am looking to fund a £5000 car, and have £1500 deposit. Hi Graham, as long as you’ve kept up with your credit payments since you were discharged from bankruptcy, we have a couple of options on our lending panel who should approve you for car finance. Our lenders will take into consideration any special circumstances affecting the credit history – for example joint agreements where payment responsibility has fallen upon one of the joint hirers only, thus causing payment problems.
