When you receive the SI DVD you should not have to use it unless your dealer network or your ISP experiences problems which prevent you from accessing the SI web site. However, the previous SI Stand-alone application may be uninstalled to encourage GM service technicians to access the SI web site instead of the previous SI Stand-alone application. Since the SI DVD is not compatible with the GM Labor Time Guide, if you need to use the SI DVD, you may either uninstall the GM Labor Time Guide or use another Techline PC equipped with a DVD ROM drive. Moving forward, if you wish to access GM service information and GM Labor Time Guide data on the same PC, the best option is to use the SI web site since it is updated daily and now contains the GM Labor Time Guide for approved dealership user roles.
