I have been submitting electronic claims for a long time to UnitedHealthcare, suddenly my claims are all being rejected. What happened?
Providers, clearinghouses, and payors are in the process of modifying or upgrading their software in order to prepare for HIPAA. These upgrades can cause problems such as data fields being “lost” in transmission. In order to reduce the chances of these problems occurring it is important that software vendors conduct adequate testing with the clearinghouses. Contact your vendor for both testing questions and claims problem resolution.
