I have been out of graphic design loop for some time…Is QuarkXPress still the publishing industry standard?

From what I understand Adobe is wooing designers with Indesign, but printers are hating it. So far it seems that Quark is still the leader. But Adobe’s next version of Indesign could change that. Speaking personally, I use Quark. I’ve played around with Indesign but have never fully adopted it because most of the printers I use absolutely hate it. As far as the differences between the two- Adobe integrates really well with other Adobe products especially with the CS2 package. For example you can drag and drop a PSD file right into Indesign and it will maintain its layers and other Photoshop features that you can play with right in Indesign. Basically, Indesign has alot of cool features for designers. You can get really creative. On the other hand, Quark has remained pretty stagnant. That’s why I’m thinking with the next release of Indesign Adobe could take a hold of publishing.
