• I chose the 45 rear in order to stay with the stock BMW 16 on the front that has the shock buffer unlike aftermarket countershaft sprockets that I was aware of. I went with a Sprocket Specialist with the hardened process for the rear. I only have a couple hundred miles since the conversion, but have been very happy with the results so far. I do not ride two up. Mike • The 17 tooth sprocket is on the Sprocket Specialists site. It’s their part number 621-17, $34.95 plus shipping. ScottLS Wear on a 15 Tooth Countershaft Sprocket – Opinions • I think what matters more is repetitive wear points on the chain. Even with a 16/52 combo, the chain will vary it’s location (hunt) on the sprocket with each revolution. This is NOT the case with certain combos, such as 15/45 or 16/48, which I would think would be a bad choice due to repetitive wear points. Any Mathematicians out there? Is this a variation on Combinations and Permutations? Todd #389 • Not odd or even, but odd and even. two odds make
