Create a new, empty course as described above. Then select Import course data (called just Import in Moodle 1.6) under Administration. Follow the prompts to select (by clicking on Use this course) one of your previously-taught courses (the other courses require Moodle admin status to access). Be sure to choose the option Replace destination course contents so you will get more of your old course content imported. You will then be able to select which subset of the imported course to add to your new course. Finally, a pseudo backup/restore sequence will be done to copy content to your new course. You may see two News Forums shown (one from the course creation, one from the import). If so, delete one of them (by turning editing on, then clicking on the X icon).
