You may use the Priority Date attached to the approved I-140 Petition. The Priority Date will be printed in the top portion of the Form I-797 Approval Notice. You may use this priority date when you are eligible to file your adjustment of status or immigrant visa application based on your current employer’s green card process.

When a new I-140 is filed for your new employment, the old priority date can be attached to the new petition.
