New York State has very strict public health laws that apply to students at colleges and universities across the state. Because of past experience with outbreaks of certain infectious illnesses on college campuses, the law states that you may not attend school unless you adequately document immunity to measles, mumps and rubella, and document your decision regarding the meningococcal meningitis vaccine. Students must provide documentation of immunization at every university and college attended in New York State .
