I have added the water clarifier recommended when filling the tank. Is their anything else I can do for the larger turtle?
< The clarifier is a waste of money. Bacteria is feeding on uneaten food and turtle waste creating this ammonia smell. Change some of the smelly water with clean fresh water and clean the filter.
