Cast iron holds up very well to any scrubbing you can put to it. “Elbow grease” is the thing that eventually gets it for me, regardless of the type of cleaner I use. You also want to make sure to not leave your cast iron wet, or it will rust. A very thin film of oil coating will help after you’ve dried it thoroughly, but be careful in an open-flame environment, as any oil residue left can easily catch fire.
