I have a Skipper Grade 3 Certificate of Competency and want to obtain the Master Class 5 Certificate of Competency or vice versa, what do I need to do?
If you hold a Skipper Grade 3 Certificate of Competency and want a Master Class 5 Certificate of Competency you will need to pass the Master Class 5 Ship Knowledge Trading Module with a training provider and provide us with 3 months trading sea service. If you hold a Master Class 5 Certificate of Competency and want a Skipper Grade 3 Certificate of Competency you will need to pass the Skipper Grade 3 Ship Knowledge Trading Module with a training provider and provide us with 3 months fishing sea service. Once you have passed the written exam you will need to undertake an oral exam. As you already hold an equivalent certificate we will only charge you the endorsement fee for the issuance of the certificate. If you are paying online please select the endorsement fee.
