A AutoPay identifies your specific electronic remittance advices, also known as 835 files, by your unique XPS Provider ID number. This number is submitted on your claims either on the CMS 1500, UB04 or associated 837 electronic claim file, which is submitted to your clearinghouse or direct to the appropriate insurance payer. This ID tells the payer to forward all paid claims to XPS. Upon receipt from the payer, AutoPay identifies your claims from your XPS Provider ID and routes your specific ERAs to your practice through your XPS secure electronic mailbox.
