I have a pre-paid cell phone, such as a TracFone™ can I receive emergency text messages?
No. Pre-paid cell phones are not supported and cannot receive emergency text messages from K-State Alerts. For TracFone users, eProfile will not accuractly reflect that TracFones cannot receive emergency text messages. Leader Alert and K-State Alerts cannot distinguish TracFones from supported cell phone carriers because TracFone uses other cellular providers to service their phones. However, all pre-paid cell phones can receive automated phone calls from K-State Alerts.
