Eric, the problem may not be the lures but where you are standing and the way you walk. Ponds are not that big and these fish have all the tools to hear ya coming and yes, they can see ya standing on the bank casting out. Try walking softly, staying away from the shore line a few feet back and keep the sun off your back, casting a shadow into the water. In other words, go into stealth mode and see if that works for you. Besides this, try to use natural looking lures like frogs and lizards. How many chartuese minnows or bubble gum colored crawfish have you seen in real life? Imagine the fish’s response. Good luck catchin’.
