I have a pitbull/rottweiler/other controversial dog breed. Can I travel with him?
Unfortunately, some cities and towns in Canada prohibit certain dog breeds. Leave ample time to do your research before you bring your dog. Accommodations must abide by local laws as well, so they would not be able to legally welcome your pet. Call the city or town’s Animal Control division and ask. If you have a mixed-breed dog, be sure to ask for clarification on what they consider a prohibited dog breed (is it a pitbull, for instance, if it simply looks like one?).
