I have a piece of text to translate that is written in such convoluted and flowery language that it sounds ridiculous in the target language. What should I do?
A. Regular contributors to the group consider that the FAQ should not attempt to answer questions about translation style, because safe general rules do not exist. You may be able to resolve the matter by discussion with your clients – do they want the special style preserved or not? If you cannot do that, then post details of the problem, including a small sample of the source text, to the newsgroup with a request for help. 5.
